Plan to be there with us!
We are monitoring the recently vacated Harbeck-Bergheim House, a local landmark owned by the City of Boulder’s Parks and Recreation Department.
Built in 1899, the home is a one-of-a-kind estate with a storied past. The building represents significant architecture combined with an intricate interior that would be impossible to replicate today including woodwork, windows, tiles and fixtures, all of which deserves to be preserved and protected.
Historic Boulder opposes selling the property.
The Harbeck-Bergheim estate needs to remain a community cultural asset and the City is obligated to honor its original intention set forth in the lease agreement from 1969 which states in the terms and conditions that “The intended purpose for use of the Harbeck House is to preserve the house in its historic manner…,” with an end note stating, “The Boulder Parks and Recreation Department is anxious to make the Harbeck House a community showplace of its historical period.”
