May 11, 2022 at 7:00 pm.

Join us for a lecture by Architect and Executive Director Leonard Segel highlighting the Architecture of Hobart Wagener. Hobart Wagener created the most successful office of architecture in the history of Boulder. For 32 years he worked with community leaders and homeowners to design and build over 200 public and commercial buildings and homes in Boulder and throughout Colorado.

Sixteen of his buildings were featured in architectural and professional publications; ten received national or regional honor awards. In 1971, ‘Hoby’ was elected a fellow of the American Institute of Architects. In 1985 he was recognized as the Colorado architect of the year by the American Institute of Architects. In 1995, Williams Village was recognized the outstanding building in Colorado built in the past 25 year

The lecture will be presented at the DOCOMOMO meeting in Denver and it will be viewable on Zoom – please register below to receive the invitation/link.

Leonard Segel splits his time as an architect, currently consulting with the Denver Design firm, KEPHART, and as the Executive Director of Historic Boulder, Inc.   He is a founding board member of the Modern Architecture Preservation League of Colorado, the Co-author of the “Historic Context and Survey of Modern Architecture in Boulder,” and founding board member of the Colorado Chapter of DOCOMOMO.  Just for fun he likes to look at and talk about great design.
