Historic Boulder will host a lively commemoration of Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr.’s legacy in Boulder, along with partners, the City of Boulder Parks Department and Landmarks Board. Starting in Boulder’s Central Park at 5:00 pm, Friends of the Bandshell will give a guided walking tour of the park that was laid out by the Olmsted firm in 1910.

At 6:00 pm, at the First Congregational Church, Historic Boulder will host a reception and at 6:30 a lecture will be presented by Peter Pollock, FAICP, on “Becoming Boulder: Frederick Law Olmsted, Junior and the Improvement of Boulder, Colorado.” Learn about Boulder’s transition from a mining supply town to a university town as represented by FLO Jr’s. plans for improvements, and its implications today.
