Tim Plass
Tim’s involvement with historic preservation in Boulder started with his advocacy for saving historic buildings in his neighborhood on Mapleton Hill. From there, he served on the city’s Landmarks Board for six years. His passion for municipal government also included time on the Planning Board and City Council. A longtime Boulder resident, Tim moved to Boulder from New England. He received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College and his law degree from the University of Denver.
In his spare time, Tim enjoys gardening, fly fishing and playing the classical guitar.

Patrick O'Rourke
Patrick served eight years on the Glencoe, IL Preservation Commission. As a Glencoe resident, he relocated and restored the “Howard House,” a three-story, 6,000 square for Queen Anne and the Carson House (moved two miles, across two bridges, and stored in the train parking lot for six months. Yes, he did have to pay for 12 parking spaces).
Patrick’s commercial preservation projects include the restoration of the Ziegfeld Building, an 18,000-square foot gateway building to Glencoe, and he currently owns the Woodstock Stock Exchange, also in Glencoe, IL. His “hands-on and get it done” approach to preservation in Boulder will help Historic Boulder continue its mission.
Kim Dunning
Kim is a long-time resident of Boulder, first coming here from San Francisco to attend the University of Colorado.
In 1995 Kim opened The West End Gardener, a premier home and garden boutique in downtown Boulder that operated from 1995 to 2013. It was here that she began her relationship with Historic Boulder. For 18 consecutive years Kim and her staff took on the task of decorating homes for the annual Historic Boulder “Homes for the Holidays” Tour. The creative decorations reflecting the natural style of The West End Gardener became a draw for the tour and a source of holiday inspiration for attendees.
From there she joined the board as Education Chair for a 3 year term, and has continued to serve as a volunteer event coordinator to this day.
Now one of Boulder’s top Realtors, Kim guides her clients through the process of buying and selling homes in Boulder county. “I am passionate about Boulder and love to introduce people to the Boulder lifestyle, the special places, and the unique Boulder character.”

Len Segel
He is an architect, having earned his master’s degree from the University of Michigan. Over his 40 year career he has achieved a wide perspective, working in design offices in Pennsylvania, Michigan, New York and Colorado. He’s taught at CU and served on the boards of the Museum of Boulder, the Urban Land Institute, the Modern Architecture Preservation League of Colorado and, of course, Historic Boulder. Len co-authored the “Historic Context and Survey of Modern Architecture in Boulder” and he knows more about modern architecture here than just about anyone.
He and his wife Rachel renovated their home in the Mapleton Hill Historic District and have enjoyed the qualities of that neighborhood for many years. In Len, we believe we’ve found Historic Boulder’s perfect match.
